Wow...
I received some news that made me sad. If you read my blog in May titled "Teachers" you know that I had found my 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Lee Vanmoerkerque, whom I've held near and dear to my heart since I was 11. I received an email from her son the other night to inform me that Mrs. Lee had passed away last week. That hit me pretty hard. When I told Rob, he said that when he had spoken to her (when I was on the phone with her one time, she asked to speak with him, so she could "meet" him) she had told him that she was very ill and wasn't going to live much longer. She made him promise not to tell me, since it was close to the wedding, she didn't want me to be sad. Also, when she had called Rob's mom to get my phone number, she had told her that she had Cancer, and didn't have long to live, and also asked her to not tell me. I can understand her not wanting me to be sad after being so excited that I had just found her. I had gotten some earrings for her in Mexico on my honeymoon, and hadn't sent them to her yet. I looked back on my "Teachers" blog before starting this one and saw that there was a new comment from last week on the blog from a woman telling me that Mrs. Lee had passed. I guess at least, I can say that I was able to find her and tell her how much I appreciated her, and how much she meant to me. I am very grateful for that.
Mrs. Lee...I will miss you. You are an amazing person and I am so glad I got to meet you and then find you again after 17 years. Thank you for teaching me more than any teacher ever had.

She knows, and appreciates it too, I'm sure.
Sorry to hear about your loss after what was such a glorious find. At least you were able to find her before it was too late.
Never forget that.
She was someone we hold dear to our hearts. The clothes story is the best ever about her. And just seeing how she loved people was great. She will be missed.
I am sorry to hear about your teacher. I am so grateful you were able to find her and expression your appreciation. You will alway remember her in your heart.
